Firstly I am not a notes admin - but a user of Notes and of a Blackberry linked to my Notes mail and Calendar. I am asking the question as our administrators have advised these problems are not solvable
My first question relates to syncronisation of mail files between the blackberry and Notes.
Are there settings that will allow you to perform document filing on the notes client and have this replicated on the BB? At the moment this replication happens only if you perform filing on the BB and not if the action is done on the Notes client.
To illustrate - when I get emails into my inbox I tend to use the Blackberry to file them in email folders, that way they are available on the Blackberry for search etc. This filing is replicated on the Notes client - so it happens in both Blackberry and Notes. However if I file them using Notes client into email folders they are filed in the Notes client but the filing is not replicated on the Blackberry.
My second question relates to pushing mail down to the blackberry. When you first are setup for a Blackberry - its email folders are all empty. As emails come into your inbox and are filed they are stored on the blackberry and can be filed using the method above. However existing emails in your notes client view which may be filed in folders are not available on the Blackberry. I would like to know if there is a way to push these filed emails (say the last 6 months worth) down to the Blackberry email folders.
Q1: As I am aware this should work. Make sure the PIM Sync information is correct for you. Make sure that On Conflict it states Server wins and that syncing is bidirectional.
Q2: This is not possible without resending all the emails. The reason for this is that all mail that is actioned by the BES server is stored in your STATE database. This is how you receive your mail to the Blackberry if you clear or delete your state DB that will not be visible. There is no way that I know of to pre or post populate the emails.
Q1: If this is going to work at all (and I can't guarantee that it will), you'll need to use the Desktop Manager to add the other folders to those that are synched. It defaults to just inbox (or inbox and sent - I can't remember which).
Q2: Officially, this is not possible. However, I may have just accidentally discovered a way to make it happen. I strongly suggest testing it first. It seems that if you delete a doc and then restore it from the Trash, it gets sent to the handheld. So, you could delete all the docs you want to send, and then restore them from the Trash.
