So I'm still currently on Microsoft Office 2007 and particularly use Microsoft Excel a ton. But now every single time I open it up, the configuration setup pops up. It always completes and runs fine. But it's popping up every single time I open Excel. Is there any way to stop this?

Try running the Office repair tool. That may fix any glitch that might be causing the pop up issue.

Found this on a Microsoft forum. The fix to the problem is very simple as it turns out - simply run the following commands by typing it into the Start/Run command box.

    reg add HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Word\Options /v NoReReg /t REG_DWORD /d 1

Before adding or editing Registry, it is better to keep backup of the registry of your system . Else anything happens wrong can lead to a mess. Here is a link from Microsoft, though it is based on MS Office Pro Plus 2010, but the concept may help you: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/2528748/microsoft-office-2010-professional-plus-configures-each-time-you-start
