Dell Latitude 3330 hard drive issues

I have a Dell Latitude 3330 given to me by a friend. The hard drive in it is locked by Dell Security Manager, and the password has been lost. I have another hard drive that I know works, as I'm currently using it in another device. I tried booting it off of said drive several times, but It never detected a bootable device. Ive looked for ways of bypassing Dell Security Manager to no avail. As this is a gift from someone else, I am broke, and this product is well out of warranty, I am not able to go through dell's technical support, so I would appreciate some other advise.

You could always try booting it in safe mode and try that. Another option is make a change to the BIOS settings as to the boot order. This way you may be able to boot from a CD, USB or other source before the drive in question. If you are uncomfortable with these steps, take it to a local repair shop. They may have the tools to bypass the problem.

    I suggest take it to nearest Dell Service Center and get it rectified on paid basis.

    If possible, insert the HDD into another PC and check if it does work, If works, you can go for format, (if there are no data/backups) if the disk is free and no data, you can try to format the same. But if you have backups inside this HDD, you can use any 3rd party tool to avoid the same.
