Hi everyone! My work gave me a new laptop about a month ago. It's working great. But I can constantly hear the fan working. I checked Task Manager and it's not the CPU (it's the memory which is very high - usually coming from Chrome and Firefox). Should I be concerned?

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

Check to make sure you have good air flow. The fan usually means the laptop is running hot. This could be a high demand for graphics on a system with an inadequate video card. If you tend to notice the fan activity occurs when certain programs are run , you may want to mention it to you company. They may need to upgrade the laptop if your demands are not being met with the laptop you have.

Mostly Chrome services work even after close the browser if not configure properly. Open Task Manager and click Processes tab and check after close the Chrome browser, what Chrome services are running. If it shows, it is needed to configure Chrome through its Settings menu (three dots). Next Firefox, generally FF does not runs services after shutting down the browser, but if the Firefox is not updated then it can use resources and make the system slow. You may check Firefox, if there is any recent update available.
