Mani1017,
My confusion, I identified the wrong PTF, but I noticed that you have DELAYED(*YES) on the APYPTF. Has an unattended IPL happened ?
*YES
The PTFs identified, regardless of whether they are
defined as delayed or immediate, are applied during
the next unattended IPL.
Hope this helped,
Bill Poulin
Mani1017,
I've applied numerous CUM and Group PTF's and have never seen so many prerequisite PTF's needing to be applied permanently.
With that being said, I usually schedule my temporarily applied PTF's to be permanently applied at an unattended IPL prior to my applying the CUM and Group PTF's which may be why I do not run into this.
Are all of the PTF's that are identified as required already on the system but in a temporarily applied status ?
If Yes then take Option 2 from the PTF Menu,
Product = *ALL
Extent of change = *PERM
Delayed PTFs = *YES
Apply at unattended IPL = *YES
Prerequisite lic int code = *APYPERM
Then do a pwrdwnsys *immed with restart *YES or schedule an IPL to then apply your temporary PTFs permanently.
If you have IBM support you may want to open a Service Request with them also.
Hope this helps,
Bill Poulin
I ran into a similar problem when trying to install a few select PTFs on a 6.1 iSeries. Finally, I just orderd the cum DVDs, loaded them and marked all the PTFs to be installed at next IPL. That fix the problem.
