We need a few more details on your server and network connection. Has this worked in the past and now has stopped or is this a new connection being used for the first time ?
Are you sure all of the configurations are perfect? Have you checked logon & authentication issue? Are you sure there is no missing if Windows installer cache files? You mentioned it was running successfully on Windows 7. However, please link here for Microsoft support, https://support.microsoft.com/en-in/help/2681562/using-sql-server-in-windows-8-and-later-versions-of-windows-operating
Crystal Reports 8.5 is a very old product, and has probably been unsupported for more than a decade, so I wouldn't be surprised if it had compatibility problems with Windows 10.
You didn't mention the SQL Server version you are using, but I would assume it is also an old version.
You might be able to make them work by playing with compatibility settings, but first you need to identify which one of the involved applications is causing the problem.
Can you connect to SQL Server from the Management Studio?
what version of SQL server, 2000 2005 2008 or something else ? I find a few versions have issues running under Win10..For some things I need to have multiple versions of SSMS on my Win10 machine. Older version like SSMS 2008 will allow me to script a table to a new window where the newer SSMS 2017 fails. This makes it a pain when you need to change and recreate large tables. There may be some work around for you if you let us know what version you are on.
Previously, it was working well in a Ms sql server2005 32bit environment on Windows7 32bit. "Cannot open SQL server" occurs in the Windows10 64bit Computer list.
VB6.0 executes well and error "Cannot open SQL server" message occurs when printing Crystal Reports8.5
It's good to know the environment on which it was working correctly before, but you did not answer the question about what version of SQL Server is being used now, on Windows 10.
Is it version 2005 too?
You also didn't answer the question about being able to connect to the database from Management Studio. If you can't try that, can you at least confirm that the application is able to print the reports from other computers running the same edition of Windows 10, and the same versions of the other pieces of software involved?
And an additional question: Did you have to create an ODBC data source on the client computers? If so, what type of DSN did you create?
Also, if you already tried to troubleshoot the problem, it would be good to know what you did, so we don't end up suggesting things you already tried.
While using Ms sql server2005 32bit with Windows10 64bit, some computers are experiencing an error. Install to vb6.0 setup.exe Some part of the 64 10 windows bit error in.
I'm sorry, I don't completely understand what you are saying, and I suppose you didn't understand my previous messages either, because you didn't answer most of my questions/doubts.
I know the language can be a barrier sometimes. Maybe you can have someone help you understand and respond to our questions. That would be of great help.

That's what's happening.
