Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

Your  CPU speed is limited. If it’s a PC it can be overclocked if you know what your are doing but this adds extra strain on the processor. It’s only a marginal increase. What brand and model processor do you currently have ? That speed seems awfully slow.

If it is windows based, you have to configure msconfig and see the differences.

Why did you want to speed up CPU? Is it running slow / files / folders are taking too much time to open? Installed software takes a lots of time. First delete / uninstall unnecessary software / programs. If you are using Windows OS, you can find msconfig. From here you can tweak to speed up. But be careful, some services are very necessary to run the system in proper way. So be careful. However, more details are required.

Was this a custom built system? If so it could be an issue other than the CPU. Is there enough memory and what speed is the memory. What are you running that seems slow? Are the graphics sluggish? It may be due to a integrated video card vs. a dedicated card. There may be insufficient video RAM. Or a few other reasons. We would need to know more about the hardware and O/S being run.

    "My GHz is 0.75 - 0.78 only!"

    How did you measure that?

Since you saw that info on Task Manager, what "max speed" does it show?

So what if the speed shows 2.60. Have you done anything to speed up? Please come back with more details.

It might be an error in the speed calculation made by the Windows OS.

I have heard of incorrect CPU speeds reported when Hyper-V or some other virtualization technology is enabled.

I would try installing CPU-Z to see the speed it reports.
