I have an IBM i table in *SYSBAS. I'm trying to open with commitment control from a job / program that is running under an iASP. The object library of the program is also on the iASP. I get the error message CPF432A RC9. RC9 says internal system failure. Is this something that you guys have encountered before? Internal system failure, is this something that i need to report to IBM as a PMR? I was thinking if it was a commitment control issue, this should have been an RC5 or RC2, not internal system failure / RC9?

Software/Hardware used:
IBM i v7r3, iasp

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

Not much to say here other than you should open a PMR with IBM. The specific definitions of your file and iASP could present an obscure issue or there might be an uncommon PTF that already exists and needs to be installed.

No experience with iASP's, but have you checked the file is journalled? Or a shared open that is not under commit? It's worth ruling out the obvious errors before raising a PMR.

    Hi Greg,
    Yes file is journalled.

we did raise an IBM PMR. IBM was really helpful. Turned out that the environment was not correctly set up i.e. the fully qualified domain name in CFGTCP option 12 did not match CFGTCP option 10. This is now resolved. I hope this helps someone in the future with a similar error.
