Connect direct failing to start on Red Hat

I try to start connect direct as the root user by doing su connectd -c Etc. But it fails with the error cdstatm launch failure, exiting - anyone any ideas why this is. It works on my other servers. Root starts the service by doing su connectd -c and root should own the cdpmgr & cdstatm processes. Any ideas?

    Perhaps this issue can happen if the user's process-run-limit is reached. You can increase this by editing limits.conf file with a user have a root permission. Also you can try through ssh, that more info is here:

    I'd understood that cdstatm (and a few other elements) should be installed as root rather than just started as root. Is there a difference in how the installs were done on this server?
