Is this a new problem? As for task manager, how is this opened are you using CTRL+ALT+DEL? When Word closes, is it as soon as it opens or can you do some work in it before it closes? Provide a few more details please.

More details are needed to be able to give you a solution.

Do they close at the same time?
    How did it start?
    Did you install something recently?
    What is the operating system?
Do you have an anti-virus system installed?
Does this happen with other applications?
Do you have the knowledge related to reviewing system logs and things like that?

Have you tried to open task manager from the task bar (assuming windows 7) right click on the taskbar and click start task manager, and see if it opens. If not, issue might be other. Next MS word closes automatically, is it happened every time. Have you tried to open the same file to an another desktop/ laptop or even your mobile phone. (if any). Before suspecting other issues, it is better to scan with your device by a good anti virus like MWAV and make sure that is not happened due to virus cause.
