Point of sale system is a payment transaction device that is used to make transactions, record sales, and track inventories. They are used widely in the retail chains. For start-up or small scale companies, it is used to track sales, quantities sold and how much money being earned. The point of sale system is more computerized when compared to the new cash register system. It first stores products in the database. It uses the barcode reader so you don’t need to enter the cost of the product manually as like you do in cash register system. Once the retailer scans the barcode of the product then the user swipes the card for payment. Then the card details are been sent to the bank for processing for the transaction. Nowadays point of sale malware is used abundantly by cyber criminal to steal the card details in retail store. Inorder to prevent such data breaches one should secure point of sale system with pos security.
