As part of application migration we are looking into exposing our COBOL programs as web services and using them in the Java technology. We explored this option and see that a COBOL program can be exposed as a web service using Axis or a WDSC for System i tools.
Can anyone provide feedback on the following questions related to this.
In our existing COBOL programs running on AS/400, we have a master function which invokes set of slave functions.
If we want to directly call a slave COBOL program a Java function by exposing it as a web service?
If I want to call a set of slave COBOL programs exposed as web services in Java technology, then how would I establish the commitment boundary?
