There are any number of ways to do it. If you have a Microsoft account, you have place to store it in the cloud. AOL has had that feature for a long time. Quicktime Player and iTunes all have a cloud storage. Your Office 365 account has cloud storage. So does your iPad and most smartphone. Remember though, if you lose your internet connection, than the cloud is useless to you and you cannot access the files that you have stored in the cloud.

Almost all cloud storages require login/ password to store files/folders. You have to buy any one from leading cloud storage companies like Google/Microsoft/Apple/Amazon etc. But the procedure may be changed slightly according to vendor.

Can you provide some more details, like who will be hosting the cloud, what types of apps will you be running to access the data you put in the cloud? It varies slightly from vendor to vendor. Depending on your intent a personal cloud may be a better option.
