AS/400 Subfiles
Hi, I wanted to replace the Operational Assistant menu in AS/400 (which appears when we press ESC Button) with a subfile which will contain all the spool files of that user profile. And the subfile with menu options like option 5 to display the spool file and option 2 to send the spool files to a printer device. In the existing option 2 change spool file attribute we can change many parameters. But I just want my user to change only the printer name (DEV). Can you suggest the possible ways please?

You can't "replace" the Operational Assistant menu. You can, however, set what happens when "Esc" is pressed.

For a simple way to set the Operational Assistant aside, see the QATNPGM system value.

How can write all the output spool files into a subfile directly by default? Or is there any CL command to move all the file from to OUTQ to a subfile?

If this is for selected users you can use either SETATNPGM in an initial program or (my preference) set the program in the user profile (ATNPGM parameter).

QUSLSPL is probably the best route.

Well, there's always just the basic WRKSPLF command. But that's not exactly what you asked for.

If you need to list spooled files in a subfile and processed your own options, there is no "default" method. You write the program yourself.

The List Spooled Files (QUSLSPL) API will list selected spooled files into a space, and you can populate a subfile from therre.
