So I created a pivot table in Excel 2016. My source data (the actual data) contains dates shown like this: YYYY-MM-DD. Now when I created the table, it's showing the dates this way: D-YYYY. I tried changing it by selecting the cells but that didn't work. Can I not change the date format in a pivot table?

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

Sounds like you need to ungroup the dates before you can change them. Right-click on a value you want to change on the pivot table and selecting “Ungroup” option. This brings back the regular view format.

This way also you can try this, open the file, right click the Date filed button and select Field Settings. In the next dialog box, click the Number Format button. On next dialog box, click to highlight Custom in the Category box, then type the format that you wanted, in Type box. Now click OK Again click OK button in Field Settings dialog box.
