I did a Windows 10 update last night on my Lenovo laptop and now I'm seeing a very pressing issue. I can't change the brightness on it anymore. I need it very bright due to my eyes. Clicked on the battery icon - didn't work. Neither did the keyboard shortcut. What can I do here?

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

Sometimes the screen will dim if not plugged in to save the battery. If plugged in  and it still is too dim try this from th Lenovo site.

To increase the brightness setting of your ThinkPad LCD display, press and hold the Fn key, then press the Home key. To decrease the brightness, press and hold the Fn key, then press the End key.

You can try this one, Open device manager, and navigate to the display adapters section. Now expand this and right click on the installed display driver. Then select update driver Software from the ensuing context menu. Click search automatically for updated driver software. Windows 10 should automatically download and install the necessary display or video card drivers via the detected internet connection. Once the drivers are installed successfully and this can help to overcome this issue.

@StevePett, without knowing actual problem, it may not possible to reply properly. What did you mean by 'No effect' ? Have you read all the discussions/ answer ? Have you a manual/user guide? What make/ model of your device? Please reveal more.

You may also want to check the power settings to see if there are any that are set to optimize battery life. This will cause the screen to be not as bright to extend battery life.
