CCC extension on Microsoft Word documents

All of a sudden, Microsoft Word documents in Dropbox have been replaced with the CCC extension. How can I recover these word documents?

Sounds like a ransomware virus/attack. Run a virus scan immediately. report back if you find anything. Try and see it they can be opened with another program. If not, hopefully you have a backup. These type of problems are becoming more and more common. You need to make sure you are running up to date anti virus software, a good firewall and run scans frequently.

    i already did virus scan, my computer is fine, not sure about the rest of the people who have access.  someone hacked in i think, all of the word files have been deleted, i am in the process of restoring them, then i am able to access them, but i will not have the time to restore the thousands before the 30 days that drop box gives, thank you for help
