Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

CAT 5E supports up to a gigabit per second (1000 Mbps) so assuming your internet speed is less that that which it probably is and the cable was made properly, no its not going to affect your speeds.

Though you did not mention of speeds! generally for 100mb speeds it is needed at least cat5/ better cable like cat 5e & cat6 that work as well. As for a good speed, nic also needs to be a 100mbps capable and router/ switch that it is connected to needs to be able to support 100 mbps speeds also.

CAT-6 is best for Gigabit Ethernet links. CAT-5e is appropriate for 10/100Mb, and CAT-5 can be used.

What is the best quality cable?

It's not clear what you're asking? Are you asking for a review of cables from different manufacturers?

There is much more to "quality" than just 'what cable to use'. See Is your cabling ruining your efficiency? for an introduction.

Depending on you current network, you may see an increase. a Cat-6 can handle more bandwidth than a Cat-5. You just need the power behind it, like a gigabit network, to utilize the benefit of the cable upgrade. Is this for a personal network or business network ?
