Formula? You can get the size and available storage by right clicking on the drive and select properties or if using Win 10 go to This PC and scroll down until you find the drove you want. IF you need to find how much is available with a command you can always use the DOS command DIR.

or you can try wmic logicaldisk get size,freespace,caption

    Depends on the basis that you asked this question. Did you mean logical gate or something like this? Basically in very simple case, for calculating HDD capacity, open file explorer (assuming Windows OS) just right click on individual drive and click Properties. On the next box, you can check each drive's capacity.

    Basic capacity is (sector size in bytes) x (sectors per track) x (number of cylinders) x (number of platters).

    But "capacity" needs to be defined and understood. For example, the maximum number of 1-byte files on a disk is far less than the basic "capacity in bytes".
