Can’t log in to my computer

On 1 computer only users cannot log in. Username is typed and password gets typed (it doesn't show anything being typed for password) however once enter is pressed, nothing happens. Several users have tried on the one PC as all other PCs work  Can I delete app data for it?  I don't know how.

Win 7 enterprise 32 bit

This sounds like one of two things: 1) corrupted user profile(s) or 2) a malware infection. Have you tried a Safe Mode boot?

More info would be great.

    Is it Office computers, as you mentioned "several users have tried", so assuming it is an office environment, so without admin rights u can't do anything ! How did you forget password.... have proper backups of all data/ folders/ files! Is it a shared pc/ just a single piece of pc. More details can make easy to find more suitable suggestions.

    What are you trying to log in to?  Are you talking about the windows log in, or some application?

    Is this pc part of a domain?  If so, can you log to the computer using a local user?

    What is the operating system?

    In Windows 7 when password is typed it is shown as entering dots. But you are saying that (it doesn't show anything being typed for password). IMO password is not being applied to that particular system. Secondly is there some special application installed on system which can made system level changes? that might be causing the problem.

    Sounds like it's infected. IT could be a malware program that captures log in information. I would scan it ASAP. The more people that may have tried logging into this PC could have had their log in info compromised.

    Just another thought, what log in are you having issues with? a program or network or Win 7 itself?

    If it's on Windows, I think you deleted his/her account. You should have administrator privilege to do it. Did you?
