Please check the Network status either it sets as Sleep mode.

Is this a work or personal computer? It may be possible on some work systems that they are killing inactive connections while you are in sleep mode. If you are using a file sharing service like torrent, your connection may be dropped by the service when in sleep mode due to not allowing for uploads from your computer.

This is an issue that I have seen when you use the sleep mode.  The Wireless Adapter is being shut down when the laptop goes to sleep, and the adapter is using DHCP and when it is waking backup, it is not renewing the adapter address correctly, when it wakes back up.  My solution to that issue was either reboot the laptop, which gets a new Ip address for the adapter thru DHCP or, use static addressing for the adapter and do not use DHCP.

Moreover you can check for recent updates. If updates are available you must go for that. Or check whether there is any pending update in Update History.

I had the same issue as bhannah a year or two ago with the wireless adapter getting shutdown during sleep/hibernate mode. You could try his suggested fix, it worked for my issue.

Sometimes, browsers stop/ do not allow opening websites, if they find something wrong / fishy. Todays browsers have built-in security mechanism. If that is the case, it is recommended that, not to try websites which are blocked by your browser.
