I'm trying to save a Microsoft Word document as a PDF. I'm not getting any messages but it's just not saving the file. Everything is showing up correctly. I'm on Word 2016 and a Mac OS X. What's the issue here?

Is it not creating the PDF file or does it create a file that is non-readable? Check out the Office support link
