I'm currently trying to install Norton antivirus on my Windows 10 desktop. But every time I try, I get this error message: Unable to access server. Is something blocking it from installing? Thanks so much.

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

Is this on a personal or work computer? It may be that your work network is blocking the site because it conflicts with company security methods. If it is a personal computer, it may be possible that it’s a bad link or the hosting site may be down or experiencing issues. I assume the install pretty much finished and it’s failing on the process that tries to access their server for the most current database for virus definitions. Try again later or post the link (if using one) you are try connect to the server with.

Have you updated the system recently? If yes, check either firewall or something like that blocks this installation? Is it an online installation? If you are lucky, and if it an offline installation setup, you can try to install the same in safe mode. If it is possible to install in safe mode, restart your system then scan the system for viruses. If find, remove any threats as Norton recommends.

One more thing you can try. Set at least one as a default browser, if you have several browsers installed. Click Start > Settings > System. Click Default apps & under web browser, select the web browser that you want to set as default. Now this may help to install/activate this software.
