Hello,
We have a new power 7 machine migrating from a power 6, we are using option 21 to save entire system, then option 21 on the restore menu to restore entire system to the new system.
The first restore will be a test.
When we go live, the plan is to do the same thing again.
The question is, is it okay just to restore on top of the data we did in the first restore ie
rstusrprf' and *nonsys it will just replace the current data isn't it ?
I don't currently have a 7.1 system to verify; but up through 6.1, you need to be sure to understand that the RESTORE option 21 doesn't quite do a 'full system restore'. However, you should be able to do option 21 twice. It's not clear why you would ever want to, unless the first time failed, though. Making procedural corrections might make it necessary. -- Tom
