My computer file disappeared right in front of my face without it being able to be restored when I went back to the computers history when I had the files. There is no trace of my files in the trash or computer.

It's impossible to know what you mean by "disappeared right in front of my face" since we never actually see files in the first place. All we see are presentations of entries in a directory (and the entries are merely pointers to files rather the files themselves) or presentations of a file's content by some program capable of reading and displaying the content. Also, if a file is deleted, there's often no reason to expect to find it in 'Trash'. Moving a directory entry to 'Trash' is different from "deleting" a file.

What "history" are you referring to? There might be many (dozens or more?) "history" functions in a given computer.
