If you are loading apps to your phone you need to pay CAREFUL ATTENTION to the permissions the app is looking for. A lot of them will want access to your things like your contacts, photos and other things. Most people don’t read these requests and just want to use the app, so the blindly click accept. They now have left themselves open for a whole lot of issues..You gave the app access to things you may not want them poking around in.. That is the draw back to a lot of so called FREE apps…

Most accesses will be via an IP address -- that's one major function of addresses. But it's unlikely.

If you keep your controls up to date and active, ignore the message.

Do you use a static IP address?

More information is required. Are you using VPN? What type of smartphone is there? Is it Android/ Windows/ iOS? How did you download/ install the app ? Is it through App Store/ Play Store or other source?

With so many other messaging apps why choose to use this one? .There is an article on the site VERGE that says info from many sources like NY Times and law enforcement it's the defacto site for child predators. Mainly because it's popular with younger children. Be cautious and keep all you software and antivirus up to date.

If possible, it is better to uninstall the app completely and change your all social media password including your email id. After that you can stop for use some days and check what happens there.

You can check creditability of a web site. There are several tools, that can help  for additional feedback about a specific web site. Like Alexa which offers details about a web site's popularity, traffic & history. Wikipedia can also help in this regard.

A word of caution, NEVER click on a link from someone you don't know. This is one of the main reasons for PC infections and the start of a lot of problems for those who do click.
