For .NET, I have to convert characters that are in a different language / also remove the accent marks in the letters while keeping the letter (just so you know - this is for Canadian or French Canadian). Can I do that?

...remove the accent marks in the letters while keeping the letter.

A letter-shape without an accent (or grave or tilde or umlaut or other) is not the same. The meaning can change and the collating sequence will almost certainly change. Especially for French-Canadian, this doesn't seem like a good idea.

Do you have a list of all possible source characters along with a list of the resulting characters that you want? Without a mapping table, there might not be any good method.

The mapping table might be large. Or does your question mean that you're only interested in French-Canadian as the source? That would make a far smaller set of "letters".

Why is it causing an issue? Are there multiple character sets being used? Is this data coming from the same source or multiple sources and looking to be combined into one table? Can you provide more details?
