Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

It is possible to run a dual boot system running both OS’s. You may be better off using the Linux LIVE CD . This way you can boot in Linux as needed.

More information is needed. Yes, it is possible to keep both the OS on one system that is dual booting system.

But what version of Linux/ flavor is there ? What version of Windows OS do you want?

Keep in mind, it is better to install Windows OS first (if it is already installed then OK), after installing Windows you can go for Linux. However, be cautious when partition hard disk at the time of installing.

You can download Linux and write it to a Live DVD or USB for testing on your system. Or you can configure your system for dual-boot and then start your system as either Windows or Linux. Or you can install either Windows or Linux first and then install the other to run in a virtual machine.

You'd create a Live DVD or USB first almost no matter what. Booting from that lets you test to see what you might also need to do to make Linux run well on your specific hardware. Once that's done, you'd use it to do  whatever installation option you chose.
