Lotus Notes calendar entry: Invalid or nonexistent parent document

Lotus Notes Meeting
I'm on Notes 9. I may have been on 8.5 when I created a recurring event. I have been reformatted and gotten a new hard drive also since I created this quarterly meeting back in 2013. A former team member has asked me to cancel the meeting, and I get the error "Invalid or nonexistent parent document". When I try to open the meeting, and "This meeting is not in your mailfile" when I click on a counter meeting. How can I remove the meeting and stop the quarterly reminder?

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

If you go to your All Documents view, you should be able to find the orphaned child document and delete it from there.  Just remember that the date/time will be the date/time when the meeting notice was created, not the date/time of the meeting.

The message means that the original meeting document has been removed from your mailfile. Therefore you cannot update the meeting each invitee will have to perform the following workaround.

Go to the All Documents view in the Mail frameset and delete the repeated meetings from there.

Unfortunately, you do not get a choice on which instance is deleted. You will delete all the appointments contained on that document.

Note: If you cannot find the calendar entries in the "All Documents" view, please make sure in the Calendar Preferences (under Actions > Tools > Preferences > Calendar & To Do tab > Display > Notices), "Don't display calendar documents in the All Documents mail view" option is not checked.
