What is an "asus cable"? (It's probably a cable for some kind of ASUS device.) What is your PC? What OS are you running? Why do you think it should recognize your "asus cable"? What are you trying to do?

We need much more information in order to help.

I believe that you need a USB cable to transfer the photos - is your Asus a USB cable (not a USB/Charger cable)?

The ASUS USB cable is always a USB/charger cable, AFAIK. However, there are various reports that Windows doesn't recognize the digital signatures (unsigned?) on the drivers, so it shows an error status in the device manager. Temporarily disabling Windows signature checking has apparently worked in a number cases.

More over, sometimes the cable might be not work, rather use another data cable and see if it works. Earlier I also faced the same problem, after tried another cable (same make) it worked. Or restart the both system might also helpful.

Has it worked in the past?
If your HP computer cannot register the device then I suspect a bad cable. If it does see it but still no data will transfer then it's likely a driver problem. Then again it could be something totally different. I have a Samsung Galaxy tablet running an old OS. For some reason I have tried everything to update it. This includes using a cable to connect it to my PC and use their Keis software. Won't work. Yet I can transfer pictures from the tablet to PC using the same cable.

OP you might want to temporarily disable windows checking and then see for it. Else, you can always try with a new cable.
