I have a Bose Acoustic wave system 2. I was wondering if someone knows how to hook up external speakers (other than Bose) — the old standard 2 wire speaker cable.

There is a manual for this equipment. You can follow this one. If not it is there, please link here for help: https://www.boseindia.com/en_in/support/article/connecting-to-external-powered-speakers-awmsii.html

What type of system are you looking to hook these up to? How is the Bose speaker connecting to the system? Do you plan on using both types of speakers at the same time? A few more specifics would help to see if it can be done.

I want to hook up the old standard 2 wire speakers ( positive & negative), to control outdoor speakers as well. The only connections in the back are the headphone jack and RCA cables. I have pics, but don’t know how to attach to this thread

See, as we are other side, and the work is typically on hardware based, so probably this is not possible to provide correct reply as we guess. Providing here, one more manual/help and read it minutely that can help you: https://www.manualslib.com/manual/455592/Bose-Acoustic-Wave-Music-System-Ii.html?page=20

Check for them online like the link in the answer above. The only thing is the RCA jack connection. You need to search for the right type male or female. Most of the time you want the male connection.
