Bluetooth transmitter

I am trying to connect a car head unit to a Bluetooth speaker (in a caravan), I have attached a female jack plug to the speaker wire and audio does work when plugged directly into the speaker. However I'm struggling to connect via Bluetooth, I bought a Bluetooth transmitter with 3.5mm jack plug but it wont connect to the speaker, they just wont pair. The transmitter was v2.1+EDR and the speaker is a Jabra soulmate mini v3.0 and says it does not support AVRCP, but I don't know what this means, do they have to be the same version to pair?

Might be there is something setup like misconfiguration. As it does not support avrcp, you can contact the vendor or follow user manual.
