Blu-ray player

Lately it seems my Blu-ray player doesn't play newer blu-rays and it also get hot quickly. Its probably 5 year old but I figured it still work. Do I need to look into buying a new one. If so what should I look for I fodon need 3d or 4k capabilities by any means. Any info would be appreciated

Most devices like that will fail after a while. You may start having issues where the disc freeze up or you may see a lot of pixelization. It could also be the software may need to be updated by flashing the bios. You mention it’s getting hot this could mean it’s dirty as well. Dust can get in through the vents. If it’s real bad it could be blocking the ventilation. If player is that old, you may want to look at a new player that supports today’s higher resolution formats. They will have a more up to date BIOS.

    First of all it depends on your pocket that is money. As your Blu Ray player is more than five years old, it may don't have new technology parameter that helps to run latest blu rays. You can carry this one and ask a good vendor/ a shop for upgradation. that upgradation can help to run new ones. If not, or it asks for expensive, you may go for brand new.
