I recently converted a document from a PDF to Microsoft Word 2013. When I opened the document up, it was showing huge blank gaps at the bottom of pages (and I can't get rid of them). I'm not seeing any formatting issues / or page breaks. Is this due to the conversion? What else should I look at?

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.
Try highlighting all the text in the Word document. This may reveal if there is a hidden problem like a picture that may not be displaying or something else. Not all PDF conversion tools work 100% to the best of my experience. If the gaps are at the end of each page, then it may be that the page size was different and is placing page breaks that may have existed in the PDF.
