Networking is key...it's about who you know but, just as importantly, who knows you. Having experience is a good thing as well!

Here are a couple of things I wrote/recorded that may be helpful:

You can approach your local companies or the companies which are nearby of your home for freelancing jobs. Or if you can go abroad, you can try to apply through online job portals.

You can always check with your training institute for a referral of an opening. They can sometimes help with job placement or point you in a direction you may not have thought of.

Like Kevin mentioned networking is a big plus. Talk to co-workers and friend you may have in the industry. They may know of openings that may not be published and they might even put in a good word for you. I had that happen to me years ago. A company I was working at was closing it's doors. One of our workers was a long term contractor and recommended me to his company for a position.

As well as Networking, Security or Ethical hacking is also in demand. As Mr. Kevin said, yes, certification/learning from a good & reputed educational institution is a plus and helps to get better job specially if it is a global certification from repute vendors.

If the security related course is concerned, you can consider Cisco CCNA security course which is also a global course and you can earn more about security which is a high demand in current market scenario.
