For the past year (to save some money) I shared Wi-Fi with my neighbor in our apartment complex. He moved out about a week ago and someone else moved in. Now, whenever I'm on different websites, it's coming back as spam. What's the best way to change my IP address so he cannot log on anymore (the router is in my apartment).

You don’t need to change your IP address. Most likely it’s not a static one anyways as some ISP don’t even offer them without additional costs. The best thing, and easiest,  is to change your router password if all you want to do is keep them off your network.

If you had admin rights only then you can do it. Login with the admin credentials and then change the IP in settings.

The simple way to change an IP address is, open a browser, type the IP (gateway) address and it asks for username/ password. Now select Network>LAN (generally Advanced menu) & change the IP address to preference and click Save. However this can be varied router's manufacturer.

Your IP address is unlikely to have much to do with any "spam" messages. And "spam" messages shouldn't have much to do with visiting many web sites.

Please give a couple more specific examples of the problems that you see. What are some of the web sites? And what are the exact "spam" messages? And what are you trying to do when the messages show up?
