While installing OS, I have formatted one disk unfortunately. Can you please help me how can I get my data back.

You could try Condusiv Technologies’ Undelete, but if you reformatted the drive, I doubt you could get it back, as it may be overwritten with the OS installation.

    More information is needed, what OS? Is this disk part of a RAID system? Sis you take a back up before installing the OS as a disaster recovery option if it failed?

    OS - windows 7. RAID - Don't know. I haven't taken any backup before installing the OS.

    Once it is gone means there is very few chance to get data back. While you use whatever tools/ software they are not to work with 100% satisfaction. However as you asked for free, you can try a tool called, Recuva. Just search on the net and you can download/install and try.
