A few days ago, I backed up my database that I created on another machine (which was running SQL Server 2012 Express) and I need to restore it on my machine. However, I keep getting this error when I'm trying to do it:
Backup mediaset is not complete. Files: D:question.bak. Family count:2. Missing family sequence number:1
What should I do?

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

Your version of SQL Server may be a lower version than the client’s and a restore to a lower version is not supported. The version used for the backup can be obtained by running.

restore headeronly
from disk = 'E:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.1\MSSQL\Backup\example.bak'
