I've been trying to backup a GIT repository, which will have several branches into an external hard drive. After a later time, we should be able to copy it back into our machine and work on it. I've already tried to copy the directory folder (which contains the GIT directory) and it worked. Is there a better way to do this? Thanks so much!

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

That is a common way to do it, and is OK.  Compressing the directory to reduce backup size is also a common practice.
