On my Ubuntu server when I login with my username and type in the PASSWD command to change my password, I keep getting this error message:
passwd: Authentication token manipulation error
passwd: password unchanged
Am I missing something here? Is there another way to change my password? Currently, I'm remote connecting with SSH.

More details might be needed.  The first thing you are asked is the old password.  If you enter an incorrect one, you will not be able to change it.

It might sound funny, but I have seen several people just start entering the new password right away, without noticing that the first thing they are asked is the old password.

What version of Ubuntu? Also, please show the actual commands and responses. (Obfuscate user/password info.) The options used on the commands will make a difference when changing security info over ssh.
