I see converters that will convert a HDMI to a 3.5mm jack but not the other way. What are you trying to accomplish? There may be other methods to do what you want.

Go to any shop which deals these types of items and ask for the same. Or you can search on the net like any good On line shopping portal like Amazon.com.

To the some extent it is somehow still now confusing. Did you ask for HDMI audio extractor?

This question is for PC Audio. You guys know how most PC Speakers whether they are 2.1 or 5.1 channel, they all use the 3.5mm audio jack. The thing is I was wondering if I could converter that to make it use HDMI audio for my PC.

If I understand you want to convert the audio that would normal go to your speakers to an HDMI connection? If you have a laptop, most of them today already have an HDMI port for carrying video/audio to another HDMI devise like a smart tv. My question would be what type of video connections does you computer have? If you cannot connect a HDMI device to it, why would you want just audio?

My PC has DVI/VGA video connection. The reason I would just HDMI audio is that Dolby Atmos for home theater is on Windows and requires HDMI.

You're looking to just get audio from the HDMI and not video? Why not just upgrade the video card to one that has a HDMI port already?

Try turning the monitor off & next time on with the HDMI cable connected. Windows may recognize it as a new device once it detects the EDID (Extended Display Identification Data) information coming over this HDMI as the monitor turns on, & the monitor looks for a signal on all of its ports when it turns on.
