    Does your modem supports this text mode? Was this command worked erstwhile? Is this the new setup? Is the modem containing a SIM card? What happened before?

    Yes, my modem support text mode. Yes, this command works, yes this is new setup, yes modem contains sim card, before it send english SMS but not unicode marathi language SMS.

    Other than English some of the newer GSM modems like Wavecom/Multitech can even allow direct ASCII/Unicode data. To check whether your modem supports, please pass this one:

    AT+CMGF=1
