     Uninstalling the Ask Toolbar Normally:
    1. Close the infected internet browsers.

    2. Go to your Control Panel. Click the Start button and click Control Panel.

    3. In Control Panel, click Programs then Programs and Features. On Windows XP, click on Add or Remove Programs.

    4. Uninstall Ask Toolbar: Find Ask Toolbar and Ask Toolbar Updater on the list of programs that appears, right click them, and select Uninstall.
If you cannot find Ask Toolbar in the list of installed programs, look for programs which have Ask as a publisher.

    5. Follow the uninstall steps. Complete the uninstallation process by following the steps presented in a dialogue box. When it asks you to verify that you want to uninstall the Ask Toolbar, select “yes.”

    6. Change your homepage back. Even though you have uninstalled the Ask Toolbar, Ask may still be set as the homepage of your browser.
In Firefox, click the Menu button, click Options, go to the General tab, and set your homepage preferences under Startup.
In Google Chrome, click the Menu button, click Settings, and in Settings, set your own homepage options under On startup.
In Internet Explorer, press Alt on your keyboard, and click Tools>Internet Options in the menu bar. In Internet Options, go to the General tab, and set your homepage settings under Home page.

    7. Set your search engine back to your settings. It may not have been reset when Ask Toolbar was uninstalled.
In Firefox, click the search engine icon on the search bar at the top of the window and select the search engine that you want from the drop-down list.
In Internet Explorer, press Alt on your keyboard, click Tools>Manage Add-ons, and in the window that opens, go to Search Providers under Add-on Types, right-click your preferred search engine in the list, and click Set as default.
In Google Chrome, click the Menu button, Settings, and on the Settings page, choose your settings under Search.

    8. Verify that Ask Toolbar has been uninstalled.
In Firefox, click the Menu button then Add-ons. Remove any Ask related toolbars from the extensions page.
In Google Chrome, click the Menu button>More tools>Extensions. Remove any Ask related toolbars from the Extensions page.
In Internet Explorer, press Alt on your keyboard, click Tools>Manage Add-ons in the menu bar, and look for and remove any Ask related toolbars from the screen that appears.
