You got to mention your question clearly.

As per my understanding, You have requirement, If you take F2 from Subfile screen, You should be displaying New Screen.

    If this is your requirement,

Below is the algorithm you should be following to achieve this.

    1. Once F2 is pressed on Subfile, Read the subfile and save the options (for reloading options when you come back to subfile screen).
    2. Have a loop till F12 is pressed, Display New Screen (EXFMT).
    3. Once F12 is taken from this screen, Load subfile with saved options and display.

State clearly if you have different requirement.

More info is needed, things like what is the F2 supposed to do? IF it's just to open a new page/display then you would just build the data then EXFMT of that new DSPF record format. More information will help us provide a more accurate solution.

    it's an interview question

if it were a good question, we would waste the developers time by giving you an answer and ruining that good question for all future time/

If it were a good question, we could provide a good answer.

If you got a job because of these answers, I certainly hope it's not at my site.

Did you get all these interview questions by searching in google? Or, Did you actually face these questions in interview?

Interview questions are usually to test your knowledge for the position. If we are answering them for you, do you actually have the skills to do the job?I hope so. On occasion you may get a question "outside" of the normal day to day work. They are just testing your problem solving ability. There may be more than one way to accomplish this. That means there may be no right answer but possibly more that one. If you can give multiple solutions the interviewee the better you may look. You can tell them are multiple ways to accomplish this. Then ask, "what is your policy for handling it" and give them the possible solutions.
