What is the user entering for data retrieval, a single field to get all matching records from a database? Are they entering this info in a separate screen or the subfile control record? How much data is going to be returned and is this to be built a page at a time or all at once?

What Kind of Subfile you are trying to build.

SFLPAZ & SFLSIZ should be given accordingly.

And, RRN number should be increased for each record you write on subfile.

It'd be better to answer your question clearly if you provide clear details on your error. And, a bit of your subfile logic.

There could be many possibilities. If you elaborate your requirements then there will be more chances of getting help.

SFLRCDNBR must not be zero and must not be higher than the RRN of any row that has been entered.  This restriction applies when DSPSFL is on and you write or exfmt in RPG.
