How to use FRF (field reference file) in programs? Please example in real time scenario . I know the below information only: It is also physical file, which does not have any data. It has only field description and other physical files can refer these definitions by using REF or REFFLD keywords.

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

Think about it. Where do you use the REFFLD reserved word ??? That is where you would specify the reference file.  You would never put the reference file in your source code.

As a rule field reference files are, as Michael notes, not used in programs.  Their purpose is to provide consistent definitions across an application.

One way that the file structure can be made available is by defining an external data structure with the field reference file named in the extname keyword.

Or, You could be using Like(FLDNAM) when you have that file defined in your RPG Code.
