There are many ways and many tools come with the AS/400 (aka iSeries). It is best if you use those tools which are proprietary (iSeries Navigator, SEU, PDM, DDL, STRSQL command, etc.).
However, if you’ve never seen an iSeries and you don’t have time to become familiar with it, take heart, it works just like all other databases when using SQL and ODBC/OLEDB.
- Get a user ID with sufficient authority from the system’s admin.
- Install Client Access with the ODBC connector on your PC
- Write SQL scripts to create your tables.
- Execute SQL scripts through an ODBC/OLEDB connection
