I found apps and extensions with dates modified before they were created. Is this possible? Can I safely delete them?

Software/Hardware used:
Hp Envy M6, local disk (C) windows system 32, but running 64

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

Do you need them? There’s no telling what’s going on. I would, at a minimum, upload them to a website such as VirusTotal or www.hybrid-analysis.com to see if they check out clean.

You can delete them if you don't want them, but there's no reason to think anything was "hacked". It's common for downloaded/installed objects to have been modified before they were created. The creation date refers to the date the current object was created on your system. It's almost guaranteed that they were modified before then (on the creator's system).

Like Raven said the create date is the date it was created on your system. Unless they are causing problems I would not worry about them. The modified date may be different as long as the system it was done on had the correct system date.

No, apps and extensions are not hacked. If you do not need them or any other from them, you can uninstall for smooth working. In Software / Hardware used: it is mentioned that, windows system 32, but running 64", but how can this possible, while on 32-bit system, probably not possible to install 64-bit software/OS. Please come back with more details. Also what types of apps/extensions did you mention? Are they browsers extensions or other thing?
