I do a ton of documentations and best practices documents in Microsoft Word. For that reason, I use several font styles. But when I change some of the text to a specific font style, Word keeps changing everything. I need to it only apply to the part I'm selecting. Can anyone help?

Open the document, where you wanted to change font style, then in the font group, click the font flyout. Select the options that you want to apply to the font like font style/size etc. Now select the specific text/ portion, and the properties of the selected text are set in the dialog box. Next click set as default. This is based on MS Word 2010.

Strange problem. How are you doing it currently? Are you selecting the text to change, the selecting the font, size, color or some other method? What version of Word are you currently using?
