HI i HAVE WINDOWS 7 AND WINDOWS XP AT OFFICE while opening one PDF file i am getting this error messege. Adobe Reader could not open because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged." i am traying to open the file directly from site in excel and ord format too but not opening kindly advice please see the attachment also for the same regards

Ghostscript will
repair your corrupted PDF automatically… if it can open it in the first place
(that is, if it is not damaged beyond repair). But afterwards you’ll still need
to double-check the result…

On Linux, try
this command:

 gs \

  -o
repaired.pdf \

 
-sDEVICE=pdfwrite \

 
-dPDFSETTINGS=/prepress \

  
corrupted.pdf

On Windows, try
this one:

 gswin32c.exe
^

  -o
repaired.pdf ^

 
-sDEVICE=pdfwrite ^

 
-dPDFSETTINGS=/prepress ^

  
corrupted.pdf

    Where did the PDF originate from? Can they send a new version? It may be possible that it is bad or was named with an invalid file extension. Other than that try the repair methods listed in the posts above.
